Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA): Data pertaining to electrical parameters are gathered from remote substations via transducers or relays and microprocessor based Remote Terminal Units (RTU's). This data is transmitted in real-time via communication links to a host computer system that displays cleaned up data on monitors, map boards etc, with alarms for unusual conditions. A facility is offered to the operator to remotely control the devices in the Power System.

SCADA system is a real-time system requiring real-time response in the areas of:
Data Acquisition
Data Communication
Data base (usually memory-resident)
Human-Machine Interface
Redundant systems in hot stand-by

It was important to ensure that the system calls for various services working under the Unix Operating System were carefully ported to ensure minimal degradation in performance under the NT Operating System.

CompuSharp has the capability and in-depth understanding of both sides of the Operating Systems involved in Migration Projects.
